About the KWCUSA Trophy

CAUTION
The KWCUSA trophy is fragile, and should be handled like fine china.
The trophy is also VERY unique. It is made of porcelain (china) by Timilen Company, and each piece is individually serial numbered and recorded.
The original (mold master) was hand carved by Tim Prellwitz from a single block of curly maple adding a polyester grill and finish. From this master, five piece slip casting molds are made. The trophies are all cast of Silver Falls Porcelain.

Inside the trophy will be found the artists mark (stylized initials TML) and the year it was cast. Following the letters: "KWC" is your serial number.

On the front of the trophy may be an optional engraved brass plate. You may remove it by gently pealing it off as it is temporarily held in place by a small piece of double sided sticky tape. You may take it to your local trophy store or engraver for engraving.

Ordering KWCUSA Trophies

Trophies may be ordered individually through KWCUSA for $35.00 plus shipping or as sets of 6 in red white and blue for $200.00.

Technically these may be either souvenirs or awards. They are awards if purchased by KWCUSA Hosts and then given to KWCUSA contestants based on the merit of their performance, or they are souvenirs if purchased for yourself or as a gift of appreciation as to a host, judge, sponsor, or venue. KWCUSA records the number of each trophy and will continue post a record of serial numbers, color, and recipients here at our web site. Note: we do not publish the last names of our younger people (by default.)

We also ask that you allow an unusually great period of time as they will be made upon ordering and are not currently an off the shelf item. You should have your trophies with 6-8 weeks but Timilen Company may elect to remake them if the quality of the product is less than expected when removed from the kiln (Parts with cracks or severe warping etc. are rejected, and thus delivery dates are pushed back in such cases.)

Colors can also vary. Let us know what you desire, and Timilen Company will pick a glaze and the gas chemistry of the kiln and luck will determine how close it is to your desires. Some trophies will be glazed with untried glaze colors but Timilen Company will endevour to be as consistent as they can in prepareing sets (such as pairs of trophies for male and female finalists at each placement.)

If you award or otherwise give the trophy to another, please advise so that we may keep the above table of trophies correct.
